Whatchoo Talkin' 'Bout Wil?

So we all know the ABC doesn't play ads, right? Well apart from that show were they talk about ads. I mean they have to play ads on that one, or they would just be talking about nothing, so that is okay...

But apart from that, the ABC doesn't play ads, right? Well apart from the ads it has on TV and radio for the ABC shops. I mean those are definitely ads, they advertise specific products and where you can purchase them, but that is the ABC shop, and they are ABC products, so that is okay too...

(In fact now that I think about it, at the ABC shop I am pretty sure you can buy the four series on DVD, a book and t-shirts by the people who bring you that show about ads that they show on the ABC. Is this an ad? Who can tell anymore.)

But apart from promos, and ads for the ABC shop, the ABC doesn't play ads, right? Well I guess technically it also plays ads for shows that feature on the ABC advertising when they are going to be on.

So I guess you could, if you were being completely pedantic about it say that the ABC does play ads, except you would be wrong, because those are not ads, are they? They are promos.

All of which conclusively proves three things:

1, That the ABC does not play ads;

2, That the ABC has some new promos that I am going to post the links to at the end of this blog;

And most importantly,

3. That I should never get stoned and try to write a blog again.

So finally, to recap for the people in the cheap seats, the ABC has put out some new promos, and Gruen is amongst them (which I think is their way of telling us we are back again this year).

Great to hear your show is back. A highlight of the week. I'm surprised at the lack of challenge to Todd Sampson as to his epitomising the fine art of greenwashing - coming across as a caring nurturing environmental warrior - whilst heading up the Australian arm of Philip Morris' main minion! At least Russel and the Well-Rounded Bloke are honest in their opinions on the show. It'd be great to have a panelist from an agency that isn't in bed with socially irresponsible corporations, to perhaps provide some balance.

Anyway, what does it matter? None of this is real, it's all an elaborate hallucinogenic fantasy bubbling through the THC in your brain.
